The Princess and the Puma by O Henry (1903) is a cornball vaudeville comedy with a surprising ending. It takes place in Texas, the land of the longhorn cow. Ben O'Donnel (aka "The King") is the wealthiest rancher in the region. His feisty daughter Josefa (The Princess) is famous throughout the land for her horsemanship and sharp-shooting. When swaggering cowboy Ripley Givens vows to marry Josefa, an opportunity arises to impress her, but things go terribly wrong
